Podcast 010 – Oscar Palooza
Kat and Daniel share their Oscar picks. Daniel and cold medicine don’t mix, while Kat put a mic where she wasn’t suppose to. Plus, Melik stops by to talk about roller derby and Kat’s driving.

First segment:
The gang is back at the LifeInLansing.com studio this week, so you can also watch video of this podcast on their site (starting Friday).
Daniel had a nasty cold and had to take a bunch of cold medicine–which led to hilarious results. Maybe. Speaking of hilarious, Kat had an embarrassing situation involving a wireless mic and…well…you just have to listen.
Second segment:
Melik, from Time Slot, skates by to talk about being the voice of the Lansing Derby Vixens. He also has plenty to say about Kat’s “proper” driving skills.
He also needs donations so he can jump of a building. For real. Oh, and it is for charity.
Third segment:
Kat and Daniel share their Oscar picks for the first ever Oscar Palooza! They place a bet on who will pick the most winners. What’s the wager? Listen to find out.
They have a system though: whoever picks the winner gets two points. Any ties are worth one point a piece (like how it was in the NHL in the old days). The person with the most points, wins.
Fourth segment:
A run down on what is going on around Lansing this weekend (see links below).
Events mentioned in this week’s podcast:
MSU Museum Chocolate Party – Sun, Feb. 27, 1:30 – 3:30 PM
Home Building and Remodeling Show – Fri, Sat, Sun – Lansing Center
Michigan Golf Show – Fri, Sat, Sun – Lansing Center
Batteries Not Included: Toys from the Michigan Historical Museum – thru 3/6.
Hairspray continues at Riverwalk–shows are mostly sold out, but if you call the box office at 517-482-5700, you can sometimes get turnbacks.
Notes from the Geek:
Another fun outing at LifeInLansing.com–look for the video version of this week’s show on Friday. And a big thanks to Nick and Mark for making the video happen.
I’m thinking up some new skits that will help us get the most out of the video with LiL, so stay tuned.
It was good to have Kat back again this week. The show feels empty without her around. Or something.
Hug a teacher,
Daniel (the Geek)
