Geek Speak – Star Wars Day

Today, May 4th, is Star Wars Day. Why? “May the 4th Be With You.” I’m a fan of puns and Star Wars, so whenever you can combine the two, I’m on board.
Yes, I am a big fan of the original Star Wars trilogy. A stretch, I know. How can you celebrate Star Wars Day? Watch one of the original films with friends or introduce your favorite Star Wars film to a youngster. Skip the prequels.
For the love of Jabba, skip the prequels. My favorite of the original series is The Empire Strikes Back, which was on my list of Top Geek Date Movies.
I still own the original series on VHS, in all of their full screen glory. And, it is the pre-Special Edition version. That means Han shoots first, no crappy CGI effects shoe horned into scenes, and all of the original model magic.
My kind of snow day.
This reminds me, I need to get to work on building a Boba Fett costume.
