Geek Speak – Go to This: Free Comic Book Day

My fellow comic book geeks, rejoice! As mentioned on yesterday’s podcast, Saturday is Free Comic Book Day!
Yes, this means you can go to participating comic book shops and get free comics.
Now, this doesn’t mean you can walk in to a shop and walk out with Amazing Fantasy #15 (first appearance of Spider-Man). Nope. You get free comic books, yes, but they are comics made especially for Free Comic Book Day.
But that is fine by me, as these are special one-shot issues. I have a few from previous Free Comic Book Days, and they are fun.
Where Can I Take Part in Free Comic Book Day in Lansing?
According to the FCBD website, Clem’s Collectibles in downtown Lansing will be taking part. They will have local artists in attendance, including Jay Jacot–who was a guest on podcast 008, and Dean Stahl. Check out Clem’s site for more info.
21st Century Comics and Games in East Lansing will also be taking part, according to the FCBD store locator. But, to what extent, I cannot say.
If you want to give some new comics at try, or introduce a child/significant other/parole officer to comics, this is a good (and free) way to go.
