Geek Speak – Photos of the Potter Park Zoo Eagles

With Memorial Day upon us, I figured it was a good time to show off a couple of photos I took of the Potter Park Zoo bald eagles. These were taken last Thursday at the Wine & Stein fundraiser.
"I can't believe she wore *those* shoes."

This shot was possible because I shot in RAW. The original capture was very overexposed (that’s bad). I cropped this at a 2.35:1 ratio, which mimics the look of a movie. That amber looking thing on the left side of the eye is an eyelid. This isn’t the first time I got some lucky shots of these eagles.
Looking for something to do this Memorial Day weekend in Lansing? For starters, the Potter Park Zoo will be open, and if the weather plays nice I would recommend a visit. There is a Memorial Day Parade in downtown Lansing, starting at 10AM.
