Kitty Corner – Fashion Challenge: Print Mix!
by Kat
Ok, when this challenge came up from EBEW, I was sad. I’m no good a mixing prints. I like my solids. MAYBE one print per outfit, but that’s it. But, I’m not one to back down easily, so I put on my thinking cap, sifted through my options, and came up with one combo I really like – plaid and polka dots!
Yep, it’s there, I promise:
As hard of a time as I had picking it out, I really like it together. First, I love both prints. Second, the large scale of the plaid doesn’t seem as jarring with the tiny polka dots.
Plus, the color of the cardi helps pull the belt into the outfit. What do you think? How’d I do at my first ever try (I say TRY, as I’ve done it before, but never on purpose) at pattern mixing?
Adorable accesories make any outfit perfect!

If you’re here from EBEW, let me know and I’ll stop by your blog as well!

You did a great job on the EBEW challenge. I was nervous about it too. I don’t mix patterns usually. But it was fun and I’ll do it again. I think the plaid and dots work nicely together. Your shoes are fantastic too!
I’d just like to say one thing I really appreciate about your photos is you’re not afraid to post a picture of pale white legs. As someone with pale everything year-round (for a reason… I loathe what the sun does to my skin) it makes me happy to see how good this can look, even in a fashion blog!
The belt is the perfect little bit of pattern mixing without being too crazy out there. Love how you styled this look. – Katy
I love the subtlety! I had a harder time with this theme…mainly because I tried it out a bunch last summer! That belt is super cool.
