Kitty Corner – Shopping Guide: Men’s Swimsuits
by Kat
The new hubby needs a new swimsuit – (handsome as he is, ‘see-thru’ is not a good look on him – word to the wise – avoid white swimwear!) and I discovered in my search (wifely duties and all, ya know) that I really hate a lot of men’s swimwear! The patterns are goofy, the lengths all over the map, and the nice, simple ones? Expensive. So I thought I’d share the fruits of my search with y’all – here are seven suits, $40 or less that won’t make a guy look like he thinks he’s a surfer…unless that’s what he WANTS to look like.
#1
We’re starting very simple with this green number from Target. No silly prints and long enough to meet my guy’s ‘no short shorts’ rule. Comes in a nice variety of fashion-forward colors.
#2
And now we add in some color and visual interest (love aqua and orange together) with this pair from Gap.
#3
And here we are – as wild as I like a print to be in a men’s swimsuit – madras in a great color combo from Old Navy!
#4
A super-classic pair at a GREAT price from our friends at JCP.
#5
More madras in what Land’s End Canvas terms ‘vintage’ board shorts – I’m liking these…but they may be a bit short for my guy! (Also, they’re 50% off right now!)
#6
Apparently, I like blue and stripes (shocker, I know) - another option in this IZOD pair from Macy’s.
#7
And finally, a vintage washed colorful pair from Nautica - I think these are my personal fave – but I’m not wearing them, so the final call will be up to Ben!
Well, this has been a great excuse to feature shirtless guys on my page! Which is your fave? Other tips and suggestions for men’s swimwear buying? I’m new to this whole thing!

Whatev. I like my speedo. I never had a problem finding a good spot on the beach when I wear it. Everyone seems to be leaving when I show up.
Okay, the Gap ones are super cute. I might be suggesting these to Mr. Man. He’s in the market as well.
Go for it – we ordered the Nautica one yesterday!
